Based in the Cotswolds, our goal is to help you achieve your first qualification or upgrade to the correct CSCS card that matches your skills, experience, and trade knowledge. We are fully accredited by the national awarding body, ensuring high standards and trusted certifications.

We offer a range of assessments specifically designed for bricklaying professionals. If you can't see the course you're looking for here, or you have any questions - please do get in touch.
The main Heritage specialist qualification in our field is the NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Heritage skills (Construction) ~ Brickwork.
If you are working with older or historic buildings pre-1919 a specific set of skills and expertise is required. It is important contractors and craftspeople have training and qualifications to prove their competence.
Once qualified you will be able to apply for your gold skilled CSCS card which may be required to work on certain heritage projects.
This qualification is the only recognised qualification of the prestigious Historic England, it also directly aligns with the industry standards supported by the I.H.B.C (Institute of Historic Building Conservation) and the N.H.T.G ( National Heritage Training Group) for competent craftspeople.

We pride ourselves on delivering tailored NVQ Assessments specifically designed for the bricklaying profession.
Whether you’re a seasoned professional looking to formalise your skills or a newcomer eager to build a solid foundation, our bricklaying assessments are structured to meet your unique needs.
Our NVQ Diplomas in trowel occupations are designed to assess a comprehensive range of bricklaying skills, including:
Constructing brick and blockwork to meet industry standards.
Understanding and applying technical drawings and specifications.
Mixing and working with different mortars and materials.
Building decorative brickwork features, such as arches and lintels.
Repairing and restoring existing brickwork to match original finishes.
Working safely and efficiently on-site, adhering to health and safety regulations.

We don’t just focus on the tools of the trade; we also prepare skilled professionals to step into leadership roles within the construction industry.
Our Supervisor Assessments are designed for bricklayers and construction workers looking to advance their careers by gaining the knowledge, skills, and qualifications needed to oversee projects and manage teams effectively.
Your dedicated bricklaying assessor will guide you through the process, gathering evidence directly from your workplace at a pace that fits your schedule.
The evidence includes:
Answering a set of knowledge-based questions
Witness testimonies
Copies of site documents
Photos and videos of your work on-site
Your NVQ can typically be completed in 4–8 weeks, depending on how quickly evidence is gathered.
Most assessment companies will offer multiple courses in NVQs such as Health & Safety, Site Management, and Carpentry etc. This means you could - without your knowledge - be assessed by someone who has never picked up a trowel.
LSJ Brickwork Assessments is for bricklayers only. With 35 years of experience in bricklaying, your assessor will be able to offer a unique opportunity for you to gain your NVQ on a 1-2-1 basis, enabling you to work with someone who understands what it is to be a bricklayer and what it entails to gather evidence on site.
Our team of experienced assessors are specialists in bricklaying, ensuring you receive tailored support and guidance throughout your training.
We bring the assessment process to you. Whether you're working on-site or at a designated location, our assessors minimise disruption to your workflow while helping you achieve your qualifications.
Our services are designed to simplify the path to obtaining your NVQ, whether you're seeking recognition for your experience or building a foundation for your career in the construction industry.
